The Army Painter’s Hobby Drill is a well-known, versatile, and essential tool for customising miniature figures and models. It can drill holes in metal, resin and plastic miniatures with the drill bits provided in the handle case and can fit up to a 3mm drill bit size.

The Pin Vise, as it’s also called, can be used for various purposes, including drilling pilot holes for pinning miniatures, expanding openings for conversions, or simply adding intricate details.

With the Hobby drill in your arsenal, a new world of customisation possibilities opens up. You can modify and enhance your models and scenery by adding new components, weapons, or other details such as bullet holes, rivets, or texture on surfaces like armour or clothing.

Because the pin vise’s design is like that of a pen, it is easy and comfortable to hold and control. Designed specifically for small-scale work, it offers greater precision and control than larger, more powerful drills. It allows you to create modifications in even the most confined and tightest of spaces.

When using power drills or larger tools, there’s a risk of over-drilling or damaging fragile materials like plastic, resin, or metal. A pin vise minimises this risk, as you have complete control over the pressure applied and can work at a slower, more manageable pace.

Complete your drill bit set with Drill Bits for more variety in bit sizes (10 bits) to finish any task involving miniatures.

Overall, The Army Painter’s Hobby Drill allows you to create unique and personalised designs that set your models apart.

The Hobby Drill contains:

• Miniature Hobby Drill
• 3 x drill bits: 1.00 mm, 1.4 mm, 1.8 mm

The Army Painter’s Plastic Frame Cutter is a sprue cutter designed to remove plastic components from its sprue frame.

Assembling miniature figures and models requires meticulous precision. The Army Painter’s Plastic Frame Cutter is designed with thin, sharp blades that allow for precise and clean cuts so you can separate the small, delicate components from the sprue without damaging them.

The Army Painter’s Plastic Frame Cutter – sprue cutter, plastic clippers, or nippers, as it’s also called – is designed with an ergonomic handle for comfort and control and with an anti-slip grip. Made from hard-wearing stainless steel and built to last, this cutter is an investment that will serve you well for countless projects. Its robust construction is designed to withstand the demands of your hobby.

The Plastic Frame Cutter is designed with safety in mind. It provides controlled, precise cuts, reducing the risk of accidents or injuries compared to using a hobby knife or scissor, which can easily slip or cause unintended harm.

Whether you’re working on Warhammer, tabletop RPGs, or any other miniatures, this cutter is adept at handling various plastic materials. It’s suitable for a wide range of miniatures, model kits, scale models, and other crafting hobbies that involve cutting small plastic components, making it your all-in-one solution.

Having the right tools at your disposal can make all the difference when assembling miniature figures, model kits, or in any hobby that demands precision. And a hobby knife is an absolute must-have tool, regardless of whether you are into military modelling, miniature assembling, or wargaming!

The Army Painter’s Hobby Knife is a surgical scalpel with razor-sharp and very precise blades that allow you to make clean, accurate cuts, ensuring that parts fit together perfectly.

The hobby knife is an incredibly versatile tool you can use to remove mould lines and excess material, enhance details, or make custom modifications like adding scars, weathering effects, or other unique features. It’s not limited to model-making but can be used in various hobbies, such as crafting and woodworking.

The hobby knife – craft knife, precision knife, or hobby scalpel as it’s also called – is a fundamental tool for all wargamers, miniature assemblers, and hobbyists alike. Whether you're trimming excess plastic, removing flash from miniatures, or carving intricate details, The Army Painter’s Hobby Knife is easy to use and designed to make your work shine.

The slim and ergonomic handles are rubber coated, making it easy to grip and allowing for complete control when working on various tasks and in tight spots where close-up control and attention to detail are required.

Although the Hobby Knife can be used to cut components from the sprue, we recommend you use a Plastic Frame Cutter for this, as a Plastic Frame Cutter provides more controlled and precise cuts than a hobby knife can do.

The Army Painter’s Hobby Knife easily cuts through most materials and through resin, plastic, and metal miniature pieces. The set includes 5 extra blades, size #11, in a container.
