The horsemen of Winterfell are well known for their expert riding skills. Though Stark Outriders eschew the heavier armor of many other mounted units, what they lose in durability they more than make up for in maneuverability and speed. Not ones to be bogged down by enemy forces, they can quickly distance themselves from their foes, ready to charge back in again on a flank.

The Stark Outriders Unit Box gives Stark Commanders a unit of cavalry for their forces in the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game. These swift steeds can easily make their way around the battlefield. When engaged in combat, after they perform a melee attack, they can make a free Retreat action, making sure their opponents are left without the chance to counter-attack.

The House Stark Starter Set for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game includes everything a player needs to begin a Stark army. It contains Stark Sworn Swords, Umber Berserkers, and Karstark Spearmen as troops. There are also numerous characters such as Robb Stark, Greatjon Umber, and Greywind. This is a must-have for players who want to hoist the Direwolf banner in battle.

Some units can be judged on their military skills or strength, but in war, when another army is advancing, loyalty is a much more valuable asset. The Sworn Swords are the bedrock of the strategies for Stark commanders. They are brave and capable to be sure, but their loyalty to the Direwolf banner can never be questioned. To a man, they would rather perish in battle, than leave one of their brothers behind.

The A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game Stark Sworn Swords unit box contains 12 miniature Sworn Sword figures, one Sworn Sword Captain figure, one Sworn Sword Unit Attachment, a Movement Tray, and all associated Unit cards. These warriors have waited in the frozen North too long, dreaming of battle. They may not be the best equipped units in the war, but they know that shiny armor and pretty swords alone do not a soldier make.

A trait that is often undervalued in war is flexibility. Sure, an army needs its specialists. Ones who can lead a charge, or hold back an assault, but a Unit that can do a little bit of everything is priceless when they step onto the field. The Umber Greataxes are that Unit for House Stark. The warriors in the Umber Greataxes Unit Box for A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game are fiercely loyal to the Starks. They combine mobility, defense, and fearsome weaponry to make them one of the most versatile and deadly forces in the game. Many of the more traditional Commanders will find themselves unprepared for the Greataxes’ tactics, and the longer the battle goes… the stronger they become.

House Martell's famous Sunspear Royal Guards are few in number but count among the best-trained units across all of Westeros. Their adaptive style lends itself well to both offensive and defensive initiatives, and while their armor is heavier than most Martell units, their physical conditioning allows them to keep pace. As a hard center to a Martell vanguard, the Royal Guards have no match in Martell forces, and their flexibility lets them seize the initiative on the field as the tide of battle shifts.

While the great Houses of Westeros fight with one another over who will sit on the Iron Throne, a foreign faction steadily grows in power across the ocean. That includes House Tully’s Cavaliers, their heavily armed and armoured cavalry. They are masters at the cavalry charge and can break enemy lines with ease. The Tully Cavaliers Unit Box for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game gives House Stark Commanders a new cavalry option for their forces.

Equipped with heavy weapons designed specifically for cavalry, the Cavaliers gain multiple bonuses when Charging. Their Lances gain extra dice as well as gain Sundering, making the attack truly devastating. The Cavaliers are also able to regain lost Wounds when targeted by Maneuver space on the Tactics Board, meaning they can come back from the brink, even after enemies have made it through their formidable armour.

Some soldiers just relish confrontation. They long to jump into the fray, scrapping with an enemy, seeing them beaten to a pulp. As the battle rages on, they get more and more into a frenzy. Wounds seem to not matter and actually drive their bloodlust further. That’s the case with the Umber Berserkers. Once battle is met, it only ends when either they or their enemy are no longer moving.

The Umber Berserkers Unit Box for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game gives Stark Commanders a new unit to add to their ranks. Melee specialists, they’re one of the few units in the game that gain attack dice as they take casualties. And enemies certainly don’t want to be hit, as the unit’s Sundering ability means Defense Saves are harder to pass. Adding in the Umber Champion only increases their effectiveness in combat.

The great houses in Westeros are used to certain doctrines when it comes to warfare. But elsewhere, many other styles and strategies are utilized. In the Old Empire of Ghis, the Unsullied Pikemen are an elite unit that, while they don’t wear the heavy armor of many units from across the sea, they are every bit as defensive. Marching in lock step with their shields forming a formidable shield wall, they can form a strong middle to any battle line.

The Unsullied Pikemen unit box for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game gives House Targaryen players a strong, central unit for their armies. The unit might not have the thickest armor, but their training with their shields and pikes makes them a tough nut to crack for enemy forces. Once set in place, the Unsullied Pikemen will be nigh-impossible to fight off of an objective.
