The Free Folk in the north care not for the squabbles of the various Houses south of The Wall. These nomadic tribes will go where they please. And recently, they’ve been flowing their way into warmer climes. However, the people already in those lands don’t take kindly to what appears to be an invading force. Both sides are arming for war.

The A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game Free Folk Starter Box has everything a player needs to start a Free Folk army. It contains two full units of Free Folk Raiders, as well as a unit of Savage Giants, and a unit of Free Folk Trappers. Additionally, it has various Unit Attachments, Commanders, and NCUs to customize what players field. Also included is the game rulebook, custom Free Folk dice, tokens, measuring sticks, terrain templates, and everything necessary to send a force to war.

Most of the Free Folk’s forces arm and armor themselves with whatever they can craft along the way to battle or steal off of their fallen enemies. The Thenn Warriors are different. They have forged their own bronze weapons and armor, making them the most heavily-armed troops in the Free Folk army. While their equipment might not stand up to the castle-forged steel of the southern forces, it fares better than leather and fur shirts.

The Thenn Warriors unit box gives Free Folk commanders their arguably hardiest troops on the battlefield. Their increased armor has given them a sense of invulnerability, calling out Taunts to their enemies, causing charges to be targeted at them instead of other units. They also benefit from Set Defense, which means they ignore penalties from being charged, or attacked in the flank or rear. Coming with the unit is the Chosen of Styr Unit Attachment, whose Intimidating presence causes an enemy to become Weakened when they activate.

The Free Folk are a rugged people, not very familiar with any forms of civilization. They aren’t ones to settle down on land and farm. They get their meals through wits and wile, making traps and snares to hunt prey. On the battlefields, these snares can just as easily cause issues for enemy troops as it can for tonight’s dinner. The Free Folk Trappers Unit Box gives Free Folk Commanders a new option for their armies. Lightly armed and armored, the Trappers are well-versed at harrying tactics. Able to deal wounds directly to enemy units via their Hidden Traps order, they can greatly disrupt an opponent’s plans. And being Insignificant, they aren’t worth victory points when destroyed, allowing Free Folk Commanders use them more dangerously, without worrying about giving them up to the enemy.

Frosthaven is a standalone adventure from the designer and publisher of Gloomhaven that features sixteen new characters, three new races, more than twenty new enemies, more than one hundred new items, and a new, 100-scenario campaign. Characters and items from Gloomhaven will be usable in Frosthaven, and vice versa.

In addition to having the well-known combat mechanisms of Gloomhaven, Frosthaven will feature much more to do outside of combat, such as numerous mysteries to solve, a seasonal event system to live through, and player control over how this ramshackle village expands, with each new building offering new ways to progress.

Frosthaven has a whole new set of items but there is a mechanic for bringing items over from ‘Gloomhaven’. However, as it is a remote location, these products get imported and are not there as standard. Resources are much more valuable and you have to build items through a crafting system rather than just buy them.

A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game is a competitive miniatures game for two or more players. Each player controls one of the Great Houses of Westeros, commanding battlefield units, recruiting legendary Heroes, and manipulating the political stage, in the attempt to claim the greatest prize of all: The Iron Throne. 

Players scan the cards as they’re flipped to find five of the same fruit, then race to squeak the banana. The first player to bop it keeps all of the face-up cards and play continues. Everyone looks for five fruits at once, so there's no waiting--it’s a full-on fruit frenzy!

Rounds are now broken into day and night, with hunters taking actions during both, while Dracula can act only at night.

Combat is now more streamlined and decisive, and new rumour tokens allow Dracula to mislead hunters and extend the terrible reach of his influence. Count Dracula triumphs if he advances his influence track to thirteen; if the hunters can defeat him before then, they save the continent of Europe and win the game.
