The Ballista itself is somewhat spartan, being essentially a large, armoured crossbow. At the front are four conduits, which fire the rune-scribed bolts, and the armour is decorated with a lion motif and inscription. Above this is the loading mechanism – rather than loading the unstable, energy-charged bolts directly, cartridges are used to introduce the projectiles to the ballista. The Engineers are armed with Sigmarite blades, though these aren’t their primary equipment – they carry measuring devices, compasses and the cartridges used to set up, load and fire the ballista. One Engineer is helmeted, the other unhelmeted; both feature the iconography of the Hallowed Knights.
